Volyn TRC explains mobilization of UOC cathedral deacon in Volodymyr
The Volyn Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC) provided VSN with its account of the mobilization of a deacon serving at the UOC cathedral in Volodymyr. According to the TRC, the cleric had no legal grounds for a deferment from military service.
TRC representatives said the cleric entered the official vehicle voluntarily and provided his personal details for verification. The subsequent check showed that he was subject to military service and had neither a valid exemption nor a deferment from mobilization.
“We emphasize that no physical force was used against the citizen,” the Volyn Regional TRC stated.
Officials said the cleric was then taken to the TRC for a military medical examination. After the medical commission found him fit for service, the deacon was mobilized into one of the units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that TRC officers detained a dean of the UOC Oleksandriia Eparchy.
