Khust Eparchy commemorates St. Job of Uholka

On September 18, 2026, on the feast day of St. Job of Uholka, the Khust Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrated two festive services – in the villages of Mala Uholka and Osava, reports the eparchy's Telegram channel.

The Liturgy in Mala Uholka was led by the ruling bishop of the eparchy, Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv. He was co-served by Metropolitan John of Kherson and Tavria, Archbishop Simeon of Uholka, and Bishop Veniamin of Skadovsk, as well as numerous clergy of the eparchy. During the service, a special prayer for peace in Ukraine was offered.

On the same day, a festive liturgy in honor of St. Job of Uholka was also celebrated in the church of the same name in the village of Osava. The service was led by Bishop Mark of Rakhiv, after which the hierarch addressed the faithful with a word of spiritual guidance, urging them to emulate the virtues of Venerable Job by remaining faithful to Christ and preserving prayer and love for their neighbors.

St. Job of Uholka is a great ascetic of the 20th century, who through his righteous life, humility, and love for God and neighbor became a spiritual beacon for many generations of believers in Transcarpathia. His life and feat serve as a reminder of the power of faith, patience, and prayer that lead a person to salvation, which is why his feast day is especially dear to those who draw inspiration from the example of this holy servant of God.

As the UOJ previously reported, a new UOC church of St. Job of Uholka was consecrated in the village of Osava in Transcarpathia.
