Radicals supporting the OCU are planning a provocation against the defenders of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church near the courthouse on August 26, 2026. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Pershyi Kozatskyi".
According to the publication, Davyd Pshenychnyi, a resident of Vinnytsia who previously attacked believers with a pistol during the storming of St. Michael's Cathedral in Cherkasy, called on like-minded individuals to gather on August 26 near the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal. Pshenychnyi is urging his followers to join him in deciding the fate of the Kyiv-Pechersk shrine.
The leader of "Bratstvo," Dmytro Korchynsky, joined the radical from Vinnytsia. In a post on his Facebook page, he referred to the UOC as "an enemy not yet finished off," claiming that the Church is allegedly attempting to bribe judges and "will bring its supporters there to exert psychological pressure on the court." He called on OCU supporters to appear at the courthouse on Sholudenko Street, claiming that "officials defending the position of the Ukrainian state have no means to bribe judges."
"Small groups of provocateurs from the OCU and nationalist thieves have already come to the courthouse before and attempted to stage provocations. Therefore, we urge the faithful of the UOC who come to support the monastery to remain vigilant. There is nothing to fear — carefully document all actions of the criminals and provocateurs," the "Pershyi Kozatskyi" channel urged in turn.
As the UOJ reported, believers are being called to attend the court hearing on the case of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which is scheduled for 15:00 at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal at the address: Kyiv, 1-A Sholudenko Street. Previously, the monastery's lawyer warned of possible provocations by opponents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the day of the hearing. Believers are asked to remain calm, not to yield to provocative actions, and not to engage in conflicts with opponents.
