Disordained for crime, cleric of Zaporozhye UOC diocese switched sides for the UOC-KP
Protopriest Sviatoslav Piterskiy, who had been disordained under the order of Archbishop of Zaporozhye UOC diocese for hitting a pedestrian, moved to the Kiev Patriarchate. It is reported by the diocesan site.
The priest was prohibited in ministration for “his dangerous driving which led to the severe injury of the pedestrian.” The aggrieved man died of injuries.
Despite the fact the cleric was acquit by the secular law, the ecclesiastic rules prohibit any priest to hold the Divine Liturgy in the event his hands are stained with blood of the killed person, even if this crime was not intentional.
The cleric, who realized he could no longer continue his ministration in Zaporozhye diocese of the UOC, flopped over to the UOC KP.
