Exhibition on Belarusian military volunteers held at Kyiv Lavra Reserve
The documentary photo exhibition “Kalinouski Regiment: The Long Road Home,” dedicated to the combat history of Belarusian volunteers serving with Ukraine’s Defense Forces, has concluded at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve, Dilova Stolytsia reported.
The exhibition ran from September 8 to 21 on the ground floor of the Great Lavra Bell Tower. More than 150 photographs depicted combat positions, training, soldiers’ daily lives, and the personal stories of individual fighters.
One distinctive feature of the exhibition was the use of cardboard boxes that the regiment had used to transport belongings and provisions while relocating. The photographs covered various stages of combat involving the unit in Bucha, Irpin, Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, Lyptsi, and other areas.
Organizers highlighted the exhibition’s interactive nature. Visitors to an earlier showing in Zaporizhzhia left patches, pins, and personal signatures on the boxes, which were subsequently incorporated into the exhibition at the Reserve.
The project was organized by the Kalinovtsy civic organization and the press service of the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment in partnership with the Zaporizhzhia Center for Contemporary Art and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a presentation of radical groups’ combat units was held at the Lavra’s Refectory Church.
