In Budapest, the Bishop of Rakhiv led the patronal feast of the UOC community
On August 20, the vicar bishop of the Khust Diocese celebrated the Liturgy at a Ukrainian parish in Hungary.
The vicar of the Khust Diocese, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv, led the festal divine service at the Ukrainian Orthodox parish in Budapest, on the occasion of the feast day of the holy righteous Stephen I, King of Hungary, on August 20, 2026. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Khust Diocese.
Clergy and numerous parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox community prayed at the service. A special event for the faithful was the bringing into the church of a reliquary with the relics of Venerable Job of Ugolka and Venerable Alexis of Carpatho-Russia – two great Transcarpathian saints, to whom the faithful were able to venerate and offer prayers.
After the conclusion of the Liturgy, Bishop Mark addressed those gathered with a word of spiritual guidance, congratulated the parishioners on the patronal feast, and wished the Ukrainian community peace, spiritual unity, and God's blessing.
As the UOJ reported, thousands of faithful in Khust took part in a cross procession with the relics of Martyr Gabriel.
