Orthodox Bukovynians performed a religious procession to the Athanasius Monastery
Pilgrims walked 32 kilometers from the village of Novoselytsia to the convent in Stalnivtsi.
On the eve of the feast day of Venerable Athanasius of Athos, a traditional religious procession took place in the Bukovynian Diocese of the UOC to the convent dedicated to this saint in the village of Stalnivtsi. This was reported by a correspondent of the UOJ.
The religious procession took place on July 17, 2025, and began in the city of Novoselytsia. Around 200 faithful covered a distance of 32 kilometers on foot to the holy monastery in order to take part in the festive divine services.
The participants of the procession prayed together, glorifying Venerable Athanasius of Athos and asking the Lord for peace, help, and spiritual strengthening.
The diocese shared impressions from the pilgrimage, noting that the journey became a true testimony of faith and prayerful unity: «Bruised knees, hundreds of steps, and sincere childlike prayer — joy at the end of the road».
As the UOJ reported, a thousand UOC faithful celebrated the patronal feast in Krasnoilsk.
