Court in Dnipro Refuses to Change Group of Prosecutors in Metropolitan Arseniy's Case
The Chechеlivskyi Court of Dnipro has scheduled the next hearing for August.
On June 30, 2026, the Chechеlivskyi District Court of Dnipro rejected the defense's complaint by Metropolitan Arseniy (Yakovenko) against the prosecutor's office ruling on changing the composition of the prosecutors. This was reported by the press service of the Svyatogorsk Lavra.
Judge Tatiana Bezruk upheld the decision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, despite the lawyers' arguments about violations of legislation in the appointment of the new group of prosecutors.
On that day, numerous faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church came to the courtroom to support the abbot of the Svyatogorsk Lavra.
Simultaneously with the court proceedings, the brotherhood of the Lavra and the sisters of the Lavra's sketes performed a communal prayer service with an akathist to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. Following the hearing, the court scheduled the next session for August 5 at 13:00, at which the judges will consider the question of extending the restraining measure against the hierarch.
As the SPJ reported, the court replaced Metropolitan Arseniy's round-the-clock house arrest with a nighttime one.
