US authorities accuse doctors of hiding risks of child gender transitions
Federal authorities have filed a lawsuit against the WPATH organization, accusing it of deliberately falsifying data on the safety of procedures.
The U. S. federal government, together with the authorities of Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas, has filed a lawsuit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Regulators stated that this organization misled parents and children by concealing information about the real consequences of so-called "gender transitions" and by unjustifiably labeling them as "medically necessary", reports Life Site News.
According to the case materials, WPATH deliberately concealed the severe side effects of hormone therapy and surgeries performed on minors. The list of hidden risks includes chronic pain, incontinence, loss of bodily functions, and complete loss of reproductive function.
Furthermore, activist physicians were found to have exploited the topic of suicide to manipulate the feelings of families: parents were pressured into approving procedures through false claims that it was the only way to save their child from suicide.
The investigation also uncovered facts of political corruption. It emerged that the Biden administration had pressured WPATH leadership to accelerate the release of new protocols and to remove age restrictions for surgeries in order to advance a political agenda.
At the same time, the organization ignored scientists' findings regarding the absence of evidence that such interventions benefit children's mental health. As noted in the lawsuit, the organization used the label of "medical necessity" as a tool to pressure insurance companies into guaranteeing coverage for costly and mutilating procedures.
