Mykola Tishchenko did not demonstrate any significant damage to the roof of the Assumption Cathedral.

On June 17, 2026, Member of Parliament Mykola Tishchenko showed exclusive footage of the roof of the Dormition Cathedral at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, which, according to Ukrainian authorities, was struck by a Russian "Geran" drone. Tishchenko published the video on his Facebook page.

The MP's footage shows that the roofing, originally made of copper sheets, is completely absent from the roof. At the same time, the metal structures and beams to which the roofing sheets were originally attached have been preserved.

Tishchenko also showed the exact point of impact on the cathedral. As workers explained to him, the strike location is situated at the base of one of the domes on the northern side of the church. The footage reveals that several bricks in the masonry have been damaged, but there is no serious destruction.

Earlier, the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported that the abbot of the Lavra commented on the shelling of the Dormition Cathedral.
