Metropolitan Agafangel Led the Anniversary Graduation of Odessa Seminary

Metropolitan Agafangel presented graduates with diplomas upon completion of the seminary and called upon them to remain faithful to Orthodox traditions.

On June 7, 2024, solemn events took place at the Odessa Theological Seminary on the occasion of the 80th graduation. The festive ceremony was headed by Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail. This was reported by the UOC Information Center.

The seminary rector, Archpriest Dimitry, opened the assembly and welcomed the guests of the theological school. The secretary of the OTS council, Archimandrite Tikhon, delivered a report on the results of graduation examinations and the achievements of students during the academic year.

On behalf of the graduates, words of gratitude to teachers and mentors were spoken by Archpriest Anatoly Terletsky and Daniel Zorilo. Representative of the choir conducting and iconography departments, Anastasia Kasym, thanked the school administration for the knowledge received and their care.

Metropolitan Agafangel addressed the graduates with a farewell speech. His Grace called upon the young people to remain faithful to Orthodox traditions and to bring benefit to the Church and God's people.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Metropolitan Agafangel presented the graduates with diplomas for completing the seminary. The Archpastor also awarded certificates to students who showed exceptional academic success and active participation in the life of the theological school.

As SPJ reported, Odessa celebrated the 80th anniversary of the revival of the Theological Seminary.
