Exhibition mocking Christianity opened in Austria

In early December 2025, an exhibition opened in Vienna, causing outrage among the Christian community due to its blatantly blasphemous attitude towards sacred objects. The exhibition is being held at the Vienna Künstlerhaus, reports Tribune chretienne.
The exhibition, titled "Make Yourself an Idol," is open during the Christmas period and will run until early February 2026. According to believers, the works presented are clearly provocative and aimed at degrading Christian symbols and images.
In several exhibits, the image of Jesus Christ is distorted, the Blessed Virgin Mary is mocked, and key symbols of the Christian faith are used in a grotesque and mocking manner. Critics note that such works are not related to dialogue but are a direct insult to religious feelings.
Particular outrage was caused by works in which the crucifixion and scenes reminiscent of prayer are presented in a caricatured and devoid of sacred meaning manner. Overall, the exhibition is perceived as an attempt to desacralize and devalue what is sacred to millions of Christians.
Observers believe that the exhibition in Vienna fits into a broader trend where Christianity in Europe is increasingly becoming the object of public ridicule, especially during a period of special spiritual significance for believers.
