Two court hearings in Metropolitan Arseniy case to be held in Dnipro on Dec 4
On a single day, Dnipro courts will hear two proceedings related to the case of Metropolitan Arseniy, while the appeal of his arrest has once again been postponed.
On December 4, 2025, two court sessions concerning different proceedings linked to the case of Metropolitan Arseniy, abbot of the Sviatohirsk Lavra, will take place in Dnipro. This was reported on the official Telegram page of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
The first hearing will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Checheliv District Court of Dnipro. This is a preparatory session in one of the cases involving Metropolitan Arseniy, which was earlier transferred by court decision from the Sloviansk City District Court to the Checheliv District Court.
The second session will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Sobornyi District Court of Dnipro. At this hearing, the court will consider a motion filed by the defense to remove investigative judge V. P. Boiko, who is participating in the review of case materials involving Metropolitan Arseniy.
Separately, it is noted that the session scheduled for December 2 in the Dnipro Court of Appeal to consider the defense’s appeal of the November 3 ruling ordering Metropolitan Arseniy into custody did not take place. The reason was that the case materials from the Sobornyi Court had not yet arrived. The new hearing date has been tentatively moved to December 9.
The faithful were called to offer prayerful support for the imprisoned Metropolitan Arseniy and the brotherhood of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that an international attorney of the UOC accused the Ukrainian authorities of pressuring clergy after reports of a sharp deterioration in Metropolitan Arseniy’s condition in the Dnipro court.
