The UOC parish in Italy has celebrated its first patronal feast in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear.”

On 22 November 2025, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church community in Savona, Italy, marked its patronal feast day for the first time – the commemoration of the icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear.”

The Divine Liturgy was led by Archpriest Ioann Malysh, dean of the UOC parishes in Italy, concelebrating with invited clergy, according to the Facebook post.

During the service, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for an end to the war, and for all those suffering from the hostilities.

After the Liturgy, a cross procession around the church took place. The clergy sprinkled the faithful with holy water, blessing parishioners and guests who had come to share the joy of the community’s first feast day.

At the conclusion, Father Ioann thanked everyone for the common prayer, congratulated the community on the feast, wished it strength and growth, and invoked God’s blessing upon all present.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a pan-Orthodox forum of Ukrainian youth from across Europe was held in Leipzig.
