Humanitarian aid from Chernivtsi Eparchy of UOC delivered to Sviatohirsk Lavra
The collection of aid was organized with the blessing of Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna.
On November 23, 2025, humanitarian aid from the volunteers of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church once again arrived at the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra.
In the shipment, there are15 cubic meters of boards needed for the repair of damaged buildings of the Lavra, 2.5 tons of fruits (apples, pears, plums, etc.), more than 1 ton of sauerkraut, homemade preserves, flour, household chemicals, personal hygiene products, animal feed, shoes, and other essentials for the brethren and sisters of the All-Sorrowful Skete in the village of Bohorodychne.
The collection of aid was organized with the blessing of Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna.
The organizer of the collection, Oksana (Maria) Tsiuha, expressed gratitude to all who responded to the needs of the Lavra: "We thank everyone who participates in our collections for the Sviatohirsk Lavra! Your help is very important. We spent donations sent by people from all over Ukraine to purchase the boards. These building materials are vital for the restoration of buildings after shelling, but it is almost impossible to buy them nearby."
Special words of gratitude were addressed by the volunteers to the Bukovynian entrepreneurs who regularly donate part of their products to the Lavra: farmer Serv. of God Vitaliy,Serv. of God Ivan, and Serv. of God Mykhailo "for their sacrificial love for the monks of the much-suffering monastery."
Maria also noted the contribution of ordinary believers: "We thank the parishioners of the churches in the villages of Chahor and Velykyi Kuchuriv, who made a whole ton of sour cabbage for the Sviatohirsk residents, as well as the believers from Korovia, Drachyntsi, Vashkivtsi, who donated products. We thank Serv. of God Olena for the medicines provided and Serv. of God Natalia from Kamianets-Podilskyi for her active love."
Besides the Sviatohirsk Lavra, the Bukovynians delivered humanitarian aid to the Holy Intercession Women's Monastery in the city of Lyman, which is in difficult conditions and therefore in great need of help.
Volunteers from the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy continue to collect aid for the Sviatohirsk Lavra and plan a new trip in the near future.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that 20 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to the Sviatohirsk Lavra from the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC.
