About 500 pilgrims walked to the Holy Trinity Monastery in the Rivne region on the feast day of St. Hierotheus of Ostroh.

On September 12, 2026, the feast day of St. Hierotheus of Ostroh, the Derman Wonderworker, believers from the Rivne Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held a procession to the Holy Trinity Derman Monastery, according to the eparchy.

The procession was held with the blessing of Metropolitan Pimen in the Zdolbuniv Deanery. About 500 believers chose to make the journey to the monastery on foot that day to honor St. Hierotheus in common prayer.

A cross and icons were carried at the head of the procession, followed by a long column of pilgrims. The hour-and-a-half journey was filled with prayer and church hymns. At the entrance to the convent, the pilgrims were welcomed by the convent’s abbess, Mother Veronika, and the sisters of the community.

A festive service was also held at the monastery that day in honor of the saint’s feast. Clergy and believers from the Rivne, Volyn and Ternopil eparchies gathered at the monastery for the Divine Liturgy.

After the Liturgy, a prayer service was held, during which the saint’s holy relics were solemnly carried in procession around the convent’s Holy Trinity Church.

As the UOJ reported, Bishop Hierotheus was glorified as a saint four years ago. Since then, thousands of people have come to the Derman Monastery to pray before his relics, and every Thursday clergy of the Zdolbuniv Deanery serve an akathist to the saint.
