Humanitarian aid from UOC Kharkiv Eparchy delivered to Sviatohirsk Lavra
The faithful of the Iveron Church in Lozova sent food supplies to the brethren and refugees of the monastery.
More than two tons of humanitarian cargo from the parishioners of the Iveron Church in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, were delivered to the Sviatohirsk Lavra on November 6, 2025, the monastery’s press service reported.
The aid was collected on the initiative of the church’s rector, Archpriest Ioann Neher, to support the Lavra’s monastic brotherhood, the sisters of the Skete of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow,” and refugees currently residing in the monastery.
“The parishioners of the Lozova church are deeply concerned for the fate of the monastery and pray at every service for its imprisoned abbot, Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk. Many of them have visited the Holy Mountains more than once and have come to love this sacred place with all their hearts, so they readily and unanimously responded to their rector’s appeal,” the message said.
The faithful collected aid over the course of a week – both food and monetary donations – which were used to purchase cheese, yogurt, milk, fresh vegetables, eggs, tea, and fish.
The sisters of the Archangel Michael Convent in Lozova contributed two sacks of flour and one sack of sugar.
The delivery of the aid was made possible through the Lozova District Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Dnipropetrovsk Eparchy also delivered humanitarian assistance to the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
