Priest who criticized OCU leadership accepted into UOC-KP with his parish
The Kyiv Patriarchate called this step extremely important.
On November 11, 2025, Filaret Denysenko accepted a new parish into the UOC-KP. As reported by the official cerkva.info website, Filaret made the decision during a meeting with the Chancellor of the Kyiv Patriarchate. The pro-UOC-KP Telegram channel clarified that the parish is led by former OCU cleric Yaroslav Yasenets (Kulyk).
On October 28, Yasenets announced his withdrawal from the OCU, citing disagreement with Dumenko's course and the management methods of this structure.
"The very fact that Patriarch Filaret accepted a parish into the UOC-KP (a rebellious one, with anti-Dumenko rhetoric) from the OCU is extremely important. It indicates that Patriarch Filaret still considers himself the head of a separate church - the UOC Kyiv Patriarchate and does not belong to the OCU. He actually blessed Father Yaroslav's truth," the TG channel comments on the event.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Yasenets announced his withdrawal from the OCU, after which he made several statements critically assessing Dumenko's structure. In response, the OCU stated that the cleric has mental disorders.
