UCCRO arrives in Norway with mission "to advocate for the state of Ukraine"

Shevchuk stated that this visit of the UCCRO provides an opportunity to "be the voice of Ukraine in Norwegian society".
On October 20, 2025, a delegation from the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) arrived in Norway to carry out an "advocacy mission in defense of the Ukrainian state". This was reported on the UGCC website.
The visit of representatives from different denominations began with a joint ecumenical prayer at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Oslo.
"The participants of the prayer event together thanked God for the gift of unity among the Churches and prayed for peace in Ukraine," the message states.
The head of the Uniates, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, during a visit to the Norwegian Bible Society, stated that this visit gives the UCCRO the opportunity to "be the voice of Ukraine in Norwegian society."
“Precisely because our Churches are united and speak with one voice, that voice is so strong today. And it will be strongest when it becomes the voice of God’s Word,” he assured.
As reported by the UOJ, earlier UCCRO members assured the Egyptian ambassador that in Ukraine there is "freedom of faith".
