UOC hierarchs mark 30th anniversary of Holovchyntsi Convent's revival

UOC bishops and clergy of the eparchy congratulated the abbess of the Transfiguration Convent and her sisters on the memorable date.

On the feast day of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia, hierarchs of the UOC celebrated a festive Divine Liturgy at the Trinity Church of the Transfiguration Convent in the village of Holovchyntsi on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the revival of the monastery and the name day of its abbess, Abbess Liubov (Pikhur), reports the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy.

The festive service was led by Metropolitan Alexi of Voznesensk and Pervomaisk, Metropolitan Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv, Archbishop Panteleimon of Bucha and Archbishop Oleksandr of Horodnytsia. The archpastors were concelebrated by clergy of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy and guests in holy orders.

Praying at the Liturgy were the abbess of the Transfiguration Convent, Hegumeness Liubov (Pikhur), with the sisters of the monastery, and the abbess of the Convent of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-Giving Spring" in the village of Zavaliyka, Hegumeness Elizabeth (Vavriychuk).

During the service, the clergy and faithful offered prayers for peace in Ukraine, God's mercy upon the soldiers and all the dispossessed. During the litany for the departed, the participants of the service commemorated the ever-memorable His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the hierarchal choir of St. Nicholas Cathedral under the direction of Maria Protsiuk. After the Cherubic Hymn, Metropolitan Victor performed the priestly ordination of hierodeacon Mark (Lys), a cleric of the Exaltation of the Cross Monastery for men in the city of Starokostiantyniv.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Victor congratulated Hegumeness Liubov on the 30th anniversary of the convent's revival and her name day, thanked the bishops for taking part in the festive prayer, and also congratulated all those celebrating their name day and all the faithful on the feast.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Victor celebrated the Liturgy for a persecuted UOC community in Hrechyntsi.
