Agapit Humeniuk stated that the former parish church has now become a monastery directly subordinate to Dumenko.

On July 19, 2025, “bishop” Agapit Humeniuk of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) celebrated the feast of a saint at the Seraphim Church in Kremenchuk, which had “transferred” from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), and announced that it is no longer a parish church but a monastery directly subordinate to Dumenko.

“You are no longer just a parish church and not merely a parish community – from now on, you are a monastery of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in honor of Venerable Jonah of Kyiv. The church in which we are now celebrating the service will continue to be dedicated to Venerable Seraphim of Sarov,” said Humeniuk.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Dumenko, the OCU has more than 90 monasteries. He did not disclose the number of monastics.
