Mobilized priest from Kamianske refuses to take the military oath

A UOC cleric faces up to 10 years in prison.
A priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from Kamianske, Rostyslav Kalynovskyi, who was deceitfully taken to the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) by military officials, refused to take the military oath at his unit. This was reported to the UOJ by Fr. Rostyslav’s family.
According to his family, he is under psychological pressure, with threats of up to 10 years of imprisonment. The priest managed to call his relatives once, but since then there has been no news from him. “And again, unbearable silence. Again, we don’t know what is happening to him...” wrote Fr. Rostyslav’s mother. The family is asking believers to pray for the priest.
It should be recalled that employees of the Kamianske TRC detained Fr. Rostyslav on June 19, 2025. On June 20, he was driven around to various military units all day, where he was refused entry. Two days later, he was released.
However, on June 24, he was deceitfully taken back to the TRC under the pretext of “collecting documents” and soon delivered to one of the military units. Relatives reported that the military officials are trying to force him to sign a contract.
