Criminal case opened in Bosnia against cleric who restored crosses on graves
None of the Serbian politicians have yet condemned the persecution of the abbot of the Karno Monastery.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with the Agency for Investigation and Protection, has initiated a criminal case against Archimandrite Luka, the abbot of the Karno Monastery. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Republic of Serbian Krajina.
According to Bosnian officials, Archimandrite Luka is being accused of restoring crosses on desecrated Serbian graves that had been destroyed by Bosniaks. Reports indicate that this cemetery had been repurposed for Bosniak fighters who killed Serbs in Skelani in 1993. The Bosniaks allegedly destroyed Serbian graves, transforming the cemetery into a burial site for their own combatants, who were responsible for the murders of defenseless Serbian civilians in Skelani in 1993.
So far, no Serbian politicians from the Srebrenica municipality have made statements in defense of Archimandrite Luka or taken action to prevent further desecration of the Serbian cemetery.
As previously reported, the Serbian Orthodox Church has criticized Montenegro's authorities over similar incidents in Srebrenica.
