In Amman, the Romanian Orthodox Church will be represented by its bishops.

The Romanian Orthodox Church will take part in the pan-Orthodox meeting in Jordan. This is stated in a communique adopted at the end of the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Church, which was held on February 13, 2020 in Bucharest under the chairmanship of Patriarch Daniel of Romania, as reported by Romfea.

According to the publication, having discussed the invitation of the Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilos to a pan-Orthodox meeting in Amman, the Synod of the Romanian Church concluded that he "initially agreed to the autocephaly granted, but a consensus must be reached between the Ecumenical and Moscow Patriarchates."

The Synod emphasized that the Romanian Orthodox Church will participate in the pan-Orthodox proceedings but through its bishops, not Patriarch Daniel.

“The participation of the Romanian Church in Amman is justified by the fact that all Autocephalous Churches are responsible for working together to maintain unity and Eucharistic communion, as required by the Holy Gospel of Christ,” the statement of the Holy Synod emphasizes.

Recall that Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople called the initiative of the Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilos to convene a Pan-Orthodox Synaxis due to the crisis that arose in connection with the granting of the Tomos to the OCU as non-canonical. The head of Phanar is convinced that only the Ecumenical Throne canonically bears the sacred responsibility for the unity and stability of the Orthodox Churches.
