OCU and Adventists heads discuss how to strengthen Ukrainians' spiritual values

Dumenko and Prodaniuk were concerned about the secularization of Ukrainian society.
On August 21, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, received the head of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Ukraine, Roman Prodaniuk, at his residence. The OCU website reports that the discussion focused, in particular, on "strengthening the spiritual and moral values of the Ukrainian people".
During the meeting, Dumenko and Prodaniuk discussed spiritual education in the context of Russian aggression, as well as the situation of youth during the war and the problems faced by internally displaced persons.
"Special attention was given to issues of the secularization of society, the teaching of subjects with a spiritual and moral focus, the development of chaplaincy ministry, and the strengthening of the spiritual and moral values of the Ukrainian people," the official website of the structure states.
As reported by the UOJ, Dumenko previously discussed support for Ukraine in the Islamic world with the Grand Mufti.
