Journalist: If you doubt UOC scum work for FSB, you’re a complete idiot
Kyiv FM journalist Butkevych claimed that UOC clergy are “at least FSB colonels” who have been operating in Ukraine for the past 250–300 years.
Journalist Bohdan Butkevych said during a Kyiv FM broadcast that anyone who doubts the UOC leadership’s ties to Russian intelligence services is a “complete idiot.”
“If you doubt that all those scumbags running the organization are at the very least on the FSB payroll, then you’re just a complete idiot,” he stated.
According to Butkevych, UOC clergy and faithful are “simply under the direct control of the FSB, and basically nobody even hides it. It’s been that way for 250 years, almost 300.”
Butkevych also denied the UOC the right to call itself a Church.
“You know what pisses me off most about these bastards? What do they have to do with Orthodoxy, with Christianity at all? They’re not Christians,” Butkevych insisted. “They’re not clergy. They’re, I don’t know, majors, I think, at least FSB colonels. I’m just sick of this constant hypocrisy, this refusal to call things what they are. This is not a church, ladies and gentlemen, it’s not a church. Just because they dress themselves up as a church doesn’t mean they are one.”
Describing the situation at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the journalist emphasized that “thank God, all the procedures are finally moving forward properly there. The Reserve has started functioning normally. Those bastards [UOC monks – Ed.] have been kicked out of the churches.”
In Butkevych’s view, pursuing legal proceedings against the UOC is the wrong approach.
“Just ban the damn thing, quickly and decisively,” he declared. “Use martial law to ban these freaks outright, and that’s it. Instead of running around the courts and playing this idiotic, incomprehensible game of legalism.”
The UOJ previously reported that in 2014, Bohdan Butkevych called for the killing of 1.5 million residents of Donbas during a broadcast on Hromadske.TV.
“The most important thing that needs to be done now, however cruel it may sound, is that there is a certain category of people who simply need to be killed,” Butkevych stated.
