A "hierarch" of the OCU, Yefrem Khomyak, took part in the UGCC religious ceremony at the burial of Konovalets.

The head of the UGCC led a memorial service during the reburial in Kyiv of Yevhen Konovalets, the founder of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists. This was reported by the UGCC press service.

A "hierarch" of the OCU, Yefrem Khomyak, "Bishop of Vasylkiv," took part in the religious ceremony. The memorial service was accompanied by singing from seminarians of the Kyiv Three Hierarchs Theological Seminary of the UGCC. After the prayer, Volodymyr Zelensky addressed those present, calling the reburial of the colonel an event of national significance and a restoration of historical justice.

Yevhen Konovalets led the OUN from the moment of its founding in 1929 and is considered one of the key figures of the Ukrainian nationalist movement of the first half of the twentieth century. In 1938, he was killed in Rotterdam as a result of an assassination organized by Soviet special services.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Konovalets was temporarily reburied at a cemetery in Kyiv.
