TCC Abducted 58-Year-Old UOC Priest in Kalush
Police brought a 58-year-old UOC priest from Kalush to the TCC under the pretext of filing a statement, where he is being held despite having heart problems.
On July 23, 2026, police brought a 58-year-old cleric of the Ivano-Frankivsk Diocese of the UOC, Archpriest Volodymyr Pryimak, to the TCC following an incident near his home in Kalush, reports "Pershyi Kozatskyi."
According to the source, a man in a state of drug intoxication broke onto the grounds of the priest's property. He was making noise, throwing stones at Father Volodymyr and his car, and also released the goats that the clergyman kept in his yard.
After police arrived, the officers offered Father Volodymyr to accompany them, ostensibly to file a complaint about the offender's actions. However, instead of drawing up a report on the unlawful intrusion, the priest was taken to the territorial recruitment center.
UOC parishioners believe the clergyman may have been deliberately brought to the TCC. According to the latest information, Father Volodymyr, who has heart problems, is being held at the processing center.
Previously, the Holy John's UOC church in the city of Dolyna, where Archpriest Volodymyr Pryimak served, had been closed by local activists at the beginning of the war.
