Vinnytsia to Allocate 46 Million Hryvnias for Synagogue Restoration
Vinnytsia authorities plan a large-scale restoration of the Raikher Synagogue, built in 1903.
In Vinnytsia, the authorities announced a tender for the restoration of a local architectural monument — the synagogue building at 11 Chervonokhrystivska Street. This was reported by I-VIN.INFO.
According to the tender documentation, the contractor is to carry out a complex of restoration and construction works totaling more than 46 million hryvnias. The plans include restoration of facades with surface cleaning and repair of damaged brickwork, reinforcement of the building's structures with metal elements, and strengthening of the foundations with reinforced concrete structures. Dismantling of the old roofing and restoration of the wooden roof structures are also envisaged.
Inside the building, restorers will work on the wooden gallery, staircases, and metal structures. All historical elements of the structure are to be preserved. To participate in the procurement, the contractor must confirm experience working with architectural monuments and the availability of relevant specialists.
The Raikher Synagogue was built in 1903 according to the design of city architect Hryhoriy Artynov, funded by physician Isaak Raikher. After World War II, the building was converted into a sports center, which currently houses a youth sports school.
As the SPJ reported, in the Lviv region, 9.4 million hryvnias from the budget will be spent on the restoration of a UGCC church.
