Patriarch Porfirije Congratulates His Beatitude Onufriy on His Name Day
Primate of the Serbian Church congratulated His Beatitude Onuphrius, expressing prayerful support for the Ukrainian flock during a period of severe trials.
Patriarch Porfirije congratulated the Primate of the UOC on his name day, wishing him strength and long life. The head of the Serbian Church emphasized that he prayerfully shares the joy of the feast together with the Ukrainian hierarchs and flock. This was reported by the UOJ in Serbia.
"Brotherly love reminds Us of yet another joyful occasion of today's spiritual celebration — Your name day," reads the message of Patriarch Porfirije. "We offer fervent prayers to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that He may grant You to His holy Churches in peace, health, and long life." The head of the Serbian Church also wished Metropolitan Onufriy to continue "rightly dividing the word of Truth."
Patriarch Porfirije paid special attention to the situation of believers in Ukraine, expressing support for "the much-suffering Ukrainian Orthodox Church." He wished Christians patience in their trials and the swift restoration of peace. "We pray that the Lord may calm troubled hearts, heal the wounds of suffering, and strengthen the faithful in their witness to the Gospel," the Patriarch emphasized.
"Entrusting ourselves to Your holy prayers, we cordially greet Your Beatitude with a holy kiss, wishing You to continue doing all things to the glory of God, for the benefit of the Holy Church of Christ and for the salvation of the people entrusted to You," — with these words the Primate of the Serbian Church concluded his congratulatory message.
As the UOJ previously reported, the UOC congratulated the Primate on his name day at Theophania.
