The Sumy Diocese of the UOC delivered aid worth 1.25 million hryvnias to children with cancer
Believers and clergy of the Sumy region purchased an expensive neuromyograph and vital medicines for the regional children's hospital.
On June 23, 2026, at the Sumy Diocesan Administration, the results of the 15th charity campaign “To the Bright Day – bright deeds!” were summed up, during which aid totaling 1 million 250 thousand hryvnias was handed over for patients of the oncology center. This was reported by the press service of the Sumy Diocese.
Using funds collected by the community, the diocese purchased a modern electronic neuromyograph “Modus EMG-3” costing more than 658 thousand hryvnias. The new equipment will allow doctors to promptly detect nervous system damage in children undergoing intensive anticancer therapy, as well as monitor their condition during rehabilitation.
In addition to the equipment, the hospital received a large supply of necessary medicines. The list included antibacterial and antiviral drugs, medications to support blood formation, infusion therapy, and correction of blood clotting.
“Such assistance is extremely important for the proper treatment of our young patients,” said Liana Nikitenko, head of the oncohematology department, expressing her gratitude to the faithful. “We are sincerely grateful to Metropolitan Evlogy and all donors for their many years of support.”
For his part, Metropolitan Evlogy noted that the campaign has continued for fifteen years solely thanks to the kind hearts of people who are ready to serve their neighbors. The diocese used all collected donations strictly for their intended purpose, and the equipment and medicines were transferred to the hospital in full.
As the UOJ reported, the Khmelnytskyi Diocese of the UOC delivered 20 tons of aid to hospitals and social institutions.
