According to Usyk, when calling for agreements with Russia, he speaks not as a politician, but as an ordinary person and a Christian who wants peace and does not understand the logic of enmity.

On June 10, 2026, at the America's Adversaries: The Russia Reality summit in Washington, Oleksandr Usyk called for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, emphasizing that the warring peoples have "one blood".

Answering questions, the world champion noted that he speaks not as a politician, but as an ordinary person, and admitted that he "doesn't like politics at all" – unlike pure human communication.

"We must negotiate. We have reason, we have one blood – it is red. Everything is destroyed by our ego and the absence of God in our lives," the boxer said. At the same time, he stated that "for many years Russia wants to destroy the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian history, Ukrainian people".

Usyk expressed confidence that Ukraine will defeat Russia. "I just know it. I pray, I feel it. I don't know, maybe the Lord gives me this feeling – after all, we didn't start this. I read the Gospel every day. And Ukrainians fight for their home every day," the boxer declared.

At the same time, Usyk added that the Lord helps those who "do not strive for what belongs to others, but defend their own," referring to the commandment "do not covet your neighbor's house".

Earlier, the Union of Orthodox Journalists wrote that, according to Usyk, what the authorities are doing to the UOC divides the people.
