HUR: Opinion polls prove religious rights are not violated in Ukraine
A representative of the intelligence service, Andrii Yusov, stated that society does not confirm any facts of religious persecution in the country.
On June 1, 2026, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense, Andrii Yusov, commented on the situation with religious freedom in the country, reports "Interfax-Ukraine".
Speaking at the forum, the HUR representative stated that allegations of violations of believers’ rights are unfounded. "According to all available data, that society does not support these claims, and opinion polls confirm this." In addition, Yusov called the Russian leadership responsible for destroying the largest number of Orthodox churches and Christians in Europe since World War II.
He emphasized that RF propaganda creates an alternative reality to manipulate public opinion. "The Russian Federation is trying to destabilize Ukrainian and European society using democratic tools for this purpose," the intelligence representative said.
As the UOJ reported, facts of UOC persecution were included in the world's human rights report.
