Easter cakes bearing MP’s advert handed out at OCU church in Transcarpathia
Representatives of the OCU in Khust district handed out Easter cakes with political campaign material to servicemen.
At the OCU Church of the Great Martyr Catherine in Transcarpathia, 120 blessed Easter cakes and food packages were distributed to soldiers in the cities of Khust, Tiachiv, and Vynohradiv.
As photographs published on the community’s Facebook page show, each festive package contained a leaflet reading “Happy Easter! Ivan Krulko,” along with the party symbols of the Batkivshchyna All-Ukrainian Union.
In essence, this was a classic attempt to gain favor in the eyes of future voters and promote a personal political brand by using the church sphere.
Ivan Krulko is a two-term member of parliament and serves as First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee.
Earlier, the UOJ reported on an OCU cleric blessing Easter baskets while shouting, “Ukraine above all!”
