A large fire broke out near the Holy Trinity Church in Kharkiv following a strike by Russian forces, while the church itself, according to the eparchy, was not damaged.

In Kharkiv, during the night of April 3, 2026, shelling triggered a fire near the Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Eparchy.

According to the eparchy, one of the strikes hit in close proximity to the church, sparking a large-scale fire. At the same time, it was emphasized that the church itself did not sustain damage.

The diocesan press service noted that “by God’s mercy, the church has been preserved,” despite the nearby impact and resulting blaze.

The Kharkiv eparchy also stated that it is offering intensified prayers for all those affected, as well as for servicemen, rescue workers, medical personnel, and all who are currently protecting human life.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Annunciation Monastery of the UOC in Pryozerne was damaged by shelling.
