In Volyn, "competent bodies" to deal with UOC Sunday schools, media
A deputy of the Volyn Regional Council initiated a request for inspections of all institutions engaged in Orthodox education of children in the region.
The Volyn Regional Council on March 31, 2026, supported a deputy's request to conduct inspections of Sunday schools and family clubs operating at parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported by Konkurent.ua.
Deputy Andriy Bokoch came forward with the corresponding initiative, stating the need to involve "competent bodies" in studying the activities of such institutions.
According to him, the reason for the appeal was events involving the Orthodox school "Perspektyva" in Kyiv, which "actually operated as a family club or Sunday school."
He claims that in this institution allegedly "about 60 children were subjected to enemy propaganda" because they were "taught using Soviet textbooks, shown films and studied songs of the occupying country, as well as the so-called 'Slavic language.'"
Referring to these words, Bokach proposed initiating inspections of all similar structures operating at UOC religious communities in the region.
This initiative was supported by the majority of regional council deputies.
As the UOJ wrote, MP Huz urged to "intensify the cleansing" of Volyn from UOC communities.
