Former chief administrator suspended from ministry in UOC-KP
If Matsurak does not repent, he will be defrocked by the Kyiv Patriarchate.
Andriy Matsurak, the former chancellor of the UOC-KP, has been suspended from ministry by “Patriarch” Nikodym. The announcement was published on the Kyiv Patriarchate’s Facebook page.
Nikodym’s decree says that Matsurak violated Apostolic Canon 34 and Canon 15 of the First-Second Council. If he does not repent, he will be stripped of his clerical rank. UOC-KP communities that had been under Matsurak’s authority are being transferred to Nikodym’s direct supervision.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that “Patriarch” Nikodym had removed Matsurak from the post of chief administrator, after which Matsurak said he did not recognize the new “patriarch.”
