The new “patriarch” of the UOC-KP has “ordained” a new “bishop” and carried out the nomination of another.

The Kyiv Patriarchate structure continues to step up its activity after the death of Filaret Denysenko. According to the UOC-KP press service, on March 28, 2026, “Patriarch” Nikodym, together with “Bishop” Mykhailo of Kherson and Tavria, performed the “ordination” of Ioan Kovaliuk as “Bishop of Kherson and Mykolaiv.” The rite of nomination had taken place the previous evening at the Epiphany Cathedral in Sumy.

That same evening, another nomination was held at the same church: Nikodim’s personal secretary, Yevhen Skrypka, was “named” “Bishop of Boryspil,” vicar of the Kyiv Eparchy.

Thus, within just days of Filaret’s death, two new “hierarchs” have already appeared in the UOC-KP structure.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the OCU spokesman had accused the UOC-KP of working for the Kremlin.
