Netanyahu hopes that Israel will hold out in the war until Messiah's coming
Israel's Prime Minister stated that the country must endure current wars and threats while awaiting the "future kingdom" and the coming of the Messiah.
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu at a press conference on March 13, 2026, stated that Israel must continue fighting its enemies and maintain resilience even in conditions of prolonged conflicts. A video of his speech was published by the Al Jazeera YouTube channel.
According to Netanyahu, the Israeli people hope to "achieve the kingdom and await the coming of the Messiah," but this will not happen "next Thursday," so the state must endure wars and threats for its own survival.
The speech was delivered against the backdrop of Israel's war against Iran and Operation "Lion's Roar," which the prime minister described as part of the fight against the “axis of evil.” Netanyahu emphasized that Israel intends to continue striking its adversaries in order to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and to ensure the country’s security.
According to the head of government, the current war should change the balance of power in the Middle East and strengthen Israel's position, which, as he claims, has already become "stronger than ever."
As the UOJ reported, Iraq’s Shiite leader called for a holy war for Iran.
