Youth of UOC Rivne Eparchy takes part in Bible brain-ring
The “All Our Own” evening on the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord brought together Orthodox young people from Dubno and surrounding villages in the Rivne Region.
A Candlemas evening titled “All Our Own” and a Bible brain-ring was held by the Rivne Eparchy on February 15, 2026, in the village of Shepetyn in the Rivne Region. As the eparchy press service reported, the event brought together 84 participants from Dubno and villages of the district.
The evening began with a common prayer for peace in Ukraine. Young people were greeted by the deans of the First and Second Dubno districts – Archpriests Viktor Savchuk and Serhii Novosad. After that, Fr Viktor gave a talk on the meaning of the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord as a person’s encounter with God and trust in His providence.
The main interactive feature of the program was a brain-ring on Holy Scripture led by Priest Serhii Karpenko, head of the youth department. Teams answered questions on both the Old and New Testaments.
“Eight teams competed with one another, demonstrating erudition, quick reactions, and team cohesion,” the statement said.
Fellowship continued in an informal setting over tea and sweets. The evening ended with a prayer of thanksgiving and a group photo.
“Candlemas in Shepetyn once again showed that when youth gather together in Christ, a living community is born in which everyone feels at home,” the eparchy press service commented.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Rivne Eparchy earlier held an “Bible Experts” competition.
