A Telegram channel published a photo of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers holding the Ukrainian flag in front of the destroyed Sviatohirsk Lavra skete in the village of Bohorodychne.

A photo has appeared online showing Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen with the Ukrainian flag against the backdrop of the destroyed Sviatohirsk Lavra skete in the village of Bohorodychne, located on the left bank of the Siverskyi Donets River near Sviatohirsk. The photo was published by the Slaviansk/Kramatorsk Telegram channel.

The Ukrainian Air Assault Forces Command also confirmed on its Facebook page that the village had been brought under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Bohorodychne had been under Russian occupation since July 2022.

The Sviatohirsk Lavra skete dedicated to the Icon of the Mother of God came under shelling in May 2022, when the Church of the Annunciation was destroyed in a missile strike. Following the attack, the abbot of the Sviatohirsk Lavra blessed the sisters and local residents who had been sheltering from the fighting at the skete to evacuate to the monastery, where they remain to this day.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that local residents had been evacuated from the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
