The St. George Metochion sisters' choir of the Rivne Eparchy took part in a charity concert of Christmas carols held on January 23, 2025, in Warsaw. This was reported by the eparchial press service.
The event took place in the Great Hall of the Royal Castle with the blessing of His Beatitude Sawa, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland. The festival was organized by the Orthodox parish of St. John Climacus.
The St. George Metochion choir performed five Christmas carols as part of the initiative “The Star of Bethlehem Shines for All Children – We Carol for Peace.”
The goal of the concert was to raise funds to help children affected by the war.
Church choirs from Poland and other countries, as well as students of Warsaw’s music schools, took part in the charity evening. According to the organizers, a significant portion of the donations will go to children’s shelters operating under Orthodox parishes.
As the UOJ reported, warming points were opened at churches of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC.
