Ukraine’s border troops award UOC’s Volyn Eparchy cleric
Servicemen of the Phoenix UAV unit recognized the assistance of a rector in the UOC’s Volyn Eparchy who supported border guards.
On January 21, 2026, a cleric of the UOC’s Volyn Eparchy, Archpriest Stepan Yarema, received a letter of appreciation from the Main Department of Unmanned Aerial Systems “Phoenix”. This was reported by the press service of the Volyn Eparchy.
The award was presented “for an active civic stance and selfless cooperation in providing assistance to servicemen of the border guard” of the unmanned aerial systems unit “Phoenix”.
The text of the letter of appreciation notes that through his support and dedication to the common goal, the clergyman is contributing to bringing Ukraine’s victory closer.
The Main Department of Unmanned Aerial Systems “Phoenix” is a UAS unit within the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. It was created during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine for effective counteraction to armed aggression.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Dnipro the TRC detained a UOC priest and is preparing to send him to the front.
