UGCC head: Today Christ becomes a Ukrainian warrior
Shevchuk, in his reflections on the Nativity of Christ, pointed out that the Savior has become a Ukrainian warrior today.
On December 28, 2025, the head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk in his video message indicated that Jesus Christ incarnated and became a Ukrainian warrior.
"Ukraine, celebrating Christmas, is strengthened in faith. Ukraine, celebrating Christmas, finds our Savior, Who is born among us today, incarnated, became both a Ukrainian warrior defending the Homeland, and a refugee who left his home, and a volunteer helping all those in need, and a rescuer extinguishing fires, and a medic saving human lives," said Shevchuk.
The head of the Greek Catholics also stated that "in the mystery of the Incarnation, the Son of God incarnates into the body, into the flesh of our Ukrainian people. Therefore, we rejoice and sing that even today, in the conditions of a terrible war, God is with us."
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Shevchuk criticized the "so-called peace plan" of Trump.
