The consecrated church is the lower church in the complex of the Annunciation Cathedral in the Sviatoshyn district. After performing the rite of great consecration, the Primate led the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.

His Beatitude was concelebrated by the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Antony of Boryspil and Brovary, Metropolitan Philip of Poltava and Myrhorod, Archbishop Spyridon of Vyshneve, Archbishop Lavr of Irpin, Archbishop Mark of Borodianka, as well as the clergy of the cathedral and invited clerics.

During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukrainian land, deliverance from the enemy, the support of people who lost their homes, and for the blessing of all who help the needy. The Primate also prayed for granting wisdom to the authorities, strengthening the soldiers, freeing the captives, healing the sick, and comforting all who found themselves in trouble.

During the Liturgy, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry ordained Vasyl Khymyshynets as a deacon, who will serve at the Church of St. Simeon the Stylite. After the service, the Primate presented church awards, congratulated the faithful on the Sunday, and gave an archpastoral blessing.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in Dubove, Transcarpathia, the altar in the Elijah Skete was consecrated.
