New altar consecrated at St. Elijah Skete in Dubove, Zakarpattia
At the St. Elijah Skete in Dubove, the altar was consecrated and the Liturgy celebrated, uniting clergy and faithful in common prayer for peace and for Ukraine’s defenders.
On December 10, 2025, the consecration of the altar and the festive Divine Liturgy took place at the St. Elijah Skete of the Archangel Michael Monastery in the settlement of Dubove, the Khust Eparchy reported.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vinogradiv, the rite of consecration and the service were led by Archbishop Simeon of Uhol, a vicar of the eparchy. He was concelebrated by Bishop Mark of Rakhiv and clergy of the eparchy.
During the service, clergy and faithful offered prayers for peace in Ukraine and for the servicemen defending the country.
The festive Liturgy gathered clergy, the brethren of the skete, and many parishioners who came to share in the celebration.
The faithful venerated the icon of the Mother of God “The Sign” and prayed for the heavenly protection of the Most Holy Theotokos for the Ukrainian people.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a church dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God “Unexpected Joy” was consecrated in Kamianske.
