The perpetrator desecrated the Christmas Nativity scene, vandalized the altar area, and shouted phrases in Arabic from the church's ambo.

On December 8, 2025, in Malaga, Spain, police detained a man who vandalized a Christian church and disrupted public order. This was reported by SER Málaga.

The incident occurred during the morning service at the Church of Santa Rosa de Lima. According to eyewitnesses and the clergyman, the man took several figurines from the Christmas nativity scene, then headed toward the altar and began striking the objects located there. Several parishioners attempted to stop him; however, the man behaved aggressively and showed signs of readiness to attack.

The perpetrator then headed to the sacristy, from where he emerged in church vestments, took a microphone, and began shouting phrases in Arabic. Those present perceived his behavior as a religious provocation. After this, he left the church with the Nativity scene figurines in hand.

The suspect was detained by a bystander near the church before the police arrived. Officers of the municipal police arrested the man, informed him of his rights, and transported him to a station of the Spanish National Police for subsequent presentation before a judge.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Iran five Christians were sentenced to combined 50 years for Christmas prayers.
