New church of John the Baptist consecrated in Kolomak settlement
The archpastor of the Kharkiv Eparchy consecrated the new church in Kolomak and offered prayers for the soldiers at the Alley of Glory.
On December 7, 2025, in the urban-type settlement of Kolomak, Metropolitan Onufriy of Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv consecrated a new church dedicated to the Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptist of the Lord, John. The report was published on the official website of the Kharkiv Eparchy.
After the rite of consecration, Metropolitan Onufriy presided over the Divine Liturgy in the new church. During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for the defenders of the homeland, for those affected by the war, and for all who are helping the people in this time of trial.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the metropolitan addressed the faithful with an archpastoral message, congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the feast, and invoked God’s blessing upon all. The rector and the church’s benefactors were awarded ecclesiastical honors for their diligent service to the Church.
Following the service, the metropolitan visited the Alley of Glory, where he prayed for the repose of the soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine, and offered prayers for the health and spiritual strength of those who continue to defend the country.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that altars were consecrated in churches of the Boryspil and Mukachevo Eparchies of the UOC.
