Ten tons of aid delivered to Sviatohirsk Lavra by UOC Synodal Department
A shipment of food and essential goods has been delivered to the Lavra as part of the “Mission of Mercy” program; the aid is intended for refugees and those in need at the Sviatohirsk Monastery.
On December 9, 2025, the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra received another humanitarian shipment amounting to 10 tons, transferred by the UOC Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Issues within the framework of its “Mission of Mercy” program. The Lavra’s official website reported the delivery.
The shipment included vegetables – potatoes, cabbage, beets – as well as one and a half tons of flour, half a ton of rice, five sacks of bran for bread baking, oil, canned goods, fruit, and warm clothing. The delivery was headed by Archpriest Konstantin Dvorovoi, deputy head of the Synodal Department, and Archpriest Andriy Dvorovoi, head of the Social Ministry Department of the Kyiv Eparchy of the UOC.
The clergy expressed gratitude to the Lyapko company for providing food, oil, canned goods, bran, applicators, and transportation with a driver. The volunteer priests also brought holiday gifts for the refugee children living at the Lavra in honor of the Feast of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called and the memory of St. Nicholas.
After visiting the Lavra, Fathers Andriy and Konstantin traveled to the Lavra’s skete dedicated to St. John of Shanghai in the village of Adamivka to deliver another batch of humanitarian aid. The previous visit to Sviatohirsk Lavra by Kyiv volunteers from the Synodal Department took place in September.
Sviatohirsk Lavra continues to serve as a place of rest and support for volunteers helping civilians in frontline regions. The monastery provides them with shelter, food, and spiritual comfort before they return to their humanitarian work, often stopping again at the Lavra on their way back.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Poltava Eparchy organized charity meals for those in need.
