Primate thanks clergy and faithful for their support in his ministry
On the 35th anniversary of his episcopal ordination, His Beatitude Onuphry expressed heartfelt gratitude to the faithful for their prayers.
His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry addressed the clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the day marking the 35th anniversary of his episcopal consecration, the UOC press service reports.
In his message, the Primate noted that the Church is the living Body of Christ, in which every person has a place and a meaning. He emphasized that the ministry of an archpastor is possible only with the support of the entire community – hierarchs, clergy, monastics, and laity alike.
“The Church is not only the bishops. It is the priests, the deacons, and the faithful. The Church is the Body of Christ, in which every member is a living cell,” he said.
Metropolitan Onuphry also expressed sincere gratitude to all who have supported him throughout the years with their prayers and deeds. Spiritual unity and mutual compassion, he said, form the foundation of ecclesial life. “I thank you for your help in my ministry, and I ask that you do not forget me in your holy prayers,” the archpastor addressed the faithful.
As earlier reported by the UOJ, the UOC celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Primate’s episcopal consecration.
